Paul Pogba speaks on Alexis Sanchez's struggles at Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has backed Alexis Sanchez to regain his old form despite struggling to adapt to the club's style of play since joining them from Arsenal in January.
The Chile international has looked far off from his Arsenal form since making the switch to Old Trafford and he has managed just three goals from 23 appearances across all competitions.
As a result, the majority of the United supporters have been critical regarding the Chilean's performance on a regular basis but Pogba has backed his teammate to come good as the season progress.
"It's not that he is playing bad. We know that Alexis Sanchez can bring a lot and I'm sure he will. I'm sure he will. But he's not playing bad and he keeps being positive, so that's the good thing we have to think about," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com
Sanchez returned to the starting lineup against Wolves on Saturday after playing no part in the Champions League opener versus Young Boys but he could not make much of an impression before Anthony Martial took his place after the hour mark.
United are scheduled to face Derby County in the third round of the League Cup in midweek and it will be interesting to see whether Sanchez is considered for a starting role, given his failure to find the net this season.
