Mata reacts to Sir Alex Fergusons Old Trafford return

Manchester United attacking midfielder Juan Mata has revealed in his weekly blog on Monday that it is great news that Sir Alex Ferguson returned to Old Trafford when Jose Mourinho's side faced Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend.

The legendary Scotsman was in the stands for the first time since he survived an emergency brain surgery in May.

"Allow me to start today’s blog by sharing how the whole world of football felt about Sir Alex Ferguson returning to Old Trafford on Saturday," he wrote.

"It is great evidence of how he has recovered and it is great news for Manchester United that we will be able to count upon his support and wisdom for a long time to come."

The game at Old Trafford ended 1-1 and Mata lamented United's inability to win the game for Ferguson, praising Wolves' performance and their competitive style.

Since Ferguson left Old Trafford, which was once a fortress under the Scotsman, has become a ground where almost any team can pick up points or get a result.
