Manchester United want world-record fee for Paul Pogba sale

United set Paul Pogba asking price

Manchester United are set to demand a world-record fee of £200m in order to sanction the sale of unsettled midfielder Paul Pogba at the end of the season.

The France international has witnessed a strained relationship with Jose Mourinho since the backend of the previous campaign and things have not improved this term with the Portuguese singling him out for criticism in the club's dressing room.

According to The Mirror, United are unlikely to entertain the mid-season sale of Pogba but they could be prepared to listen to offers next summer, should any club match their hefty £200m asking price.

Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid are some of the high-profile clubs who have been credited with an interest in Pogba since the summer but the former may hold an advantage, given the midfielder's preference to join them.

Regardless of this, it remains to be seen whether the Spanish champions would be prepared to such a vast sum on a midfielder, who has only occasionally shone for United in the Premier League since making his comeback.
