Woodward backs Mourinho over Pogba

Jose Mourinho news

Manchester United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is backing Jose Mourinho over midfielder Paul Pogba as the relationship between the pair sunk to a new low.

With Mourinho stripping the France international of his vice-captaincy and a video emerging of the pair in a row, it is clear that there is a rocky relationship between the two and this will probably affect the United squad as they hope to go on a winning run to put their season on the same level as the rivals above them on the Premier League table.

According to the Daily Star, Woodward will not consider sacking the Portuguese who is into his third season at United.

Mourinho brought Pogba from Juventus in 2016 to help him in his quest to win major trophies for United, but it seems the manager will have to look elsewhere with Pogba wanting a move out of the club.

Barcelona and Juventus are interested in Pogba. The La Liga champions are said to be monitoring the player's situation at Old Trafford ahead of a likely bid next summer.

Real Madrid have also been linked with the former Juventus star.
