Barcelona weighing up move for Liverpool defender

Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has reportedly emerged as a cut-price option for Barcelona as they aim to bolster their backline in the January transfer window.

Moreno is presently in his fifth campaign with the Reds since joining from Sevilla and he has already made 137 appearances for them across all competitions.

However, the Spaniard has struggled for gametime this season with just one appearance and Mundo Deportivo claims that he could be offered a return to the Spanish La Liga in the near future.

Ernesto Valverde's side are presently deemed the favourites to pursue the Reds outcast as they seek to provide additional back-up to Jordi Alba on the left side of the defence.

Moreno currently has just nine months left on his contract with the Merseyside giants and the Reds are likely to accept a bargain price in the forthcoming transfer window with a contract extension not on their radar.
