Mourinho keen on signing one of Perisic or Rebic

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will reportedly urge the board to pursue one of Ivan Perisic or Ante Rebic when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

Both Perisic and Rebic were hugely impressive for Croatia at the World Cup and this had attracted interest from the Red Devils among others during the summer.

However, United's interest never really materialised into transfer approaches with the hierarchy reluctant to match the asking price for either of the Croatian duo.

According to The Mirror, Mourinho could find himself in a collision course with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward this winter as he is keen to bolster the club's attack front.

It is added that the Portuguese is hopeful of getting the backing this time around with the club having made one of their worst starts to a Premier League season.

Perisic is currently said to be valued at around £48m while his compatriot Rebic is likely to cost in the region of £40m after building his reputation in Russia.
