Atletico Madrid considering move for Cesc Fabregas
Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas could be set for a return to Spain, with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid considering a move for the midfielder next summer. Fabregas will be out of contract in July and is prepared to extend his Chelsea contract, but as yet a new deal has not been offered to the player.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder has hinted that he would again like to return back to his country to play in La Liga but as yet no offer has materialised.
However, the Daily Mail reports that Cesc Fabregas is now a target for Atletico Madrid's manager Diego Simeone as the player's contract draws to a close next summer. The arrival of Maurizio Sarri has reduced Fabregas' playing time and the midfielder is now preparing to depart Stamford Bridge The reason emergence of Ross Barkley for club and country as well as the loan arrival of Mateo Kovacic has significantly reduced Fabregas' playing time.
However, Fabregas does still have words of praise for the Blues' new manager Sarri: "I wish he came a bit earlier to be honest, it's a little bit late now in my career. I'm very happy with him."
