Xhaka thanks Emery for improving him tactically

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has acknowledged the influence of new manager Unai Emery in improving the tactical side of his game this season.

The Switzerland international had come for criticism from the supporters in his first two seasons with the club but he has made a much better start this time around under the guidance of Emery.

In a report covered by The Mail, Xhaka admitted that Emery has helped him to make the improvement during the ongoing campaign and believes there is still room for further progress under the Spaniard.

"On a tactical level, the manager has really helped me," he said. "We needed some time to get to know the character and philosophy of the new manager. It is going well and I am improving, but we can still improve."

Arsenal saw the worst possible start under Unai Emery after losing the opening two league games of the season but they have since sorted themselves with a nine-match winning run across all competitions.

Out of those, six victories have come in the Premier League and this has witnessed them jump to the fourth position in the standings ahead of arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
