Manchester United could veto Jose Mourinho's winter transfer plans
Manchester United could reportedly block Jose Mourinho's pursuit of new players in January, should they fail to meet the requirements of the board.
The Portuguese tactician was desperate to bring in a central defender during the summer but the hierarchy refused to sanction a deal amid their reluctance to pay the over the odds while also being concerned about the perceived lack of value in the transfer market.
Despite this, United are being fancied to go on a winter spending spree to reinforce the backline, in particular but ESPN claims that Mourinho may not have the freedom to pick the players he would prefer to join the club in January.
United bagged a close 2-1 win over Everton in the weekend just past and they have the opportunity to build on that performance when they make the trip to in-form Bournemouth on Saturday. The Cherries are presently three points and two places ahead of United in the sixth position.
