Serie A duo vying to sign wantaway Liverpool winger
Serie A duo Genoa and Fiorentina are reportedly among the teams vying to acquire the signature of Lazar Markovic from Liverpool in the New Year.
The Serbian has been out of contention at Anfield for a long while and he had attracted interest from Anderlecht and Olympiacos during the summer without any move materialising.
According to Calciomercato, the 24-year-old may eventually end his association with the Reds in January with Genoa and Fiorentina seeking to lure him to the Serie A.
The attacker's current contract expires at the end of the season and the Reds are likely to offload him for a cut-price fee this winter rather than losing him for nothing.
Markovic joined the Reds from Benfica during the summer of 2014 and he has since made 34 appearances - all of which came during his maiden season with the club.
He has been with the likes of Fenerbahce, Sporting, Hull City and Anderlecht on loan thereafter while failing to make a strong impression with any of those clubs.
