German giants leading race to sign Arsenal midfielder

German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly leading the race to sign Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal at the end of the season.

The Wales international has been with the Gunners over the past decade but he is expected to leave at the expiry of his contract next summer with the club having decided against extending his deal.

Amidst this, he has attracted interest from some of Premier League's elite but according to The Express, Bayern could enter the race to pursue his signature next season.

Ramsey is free to discuss a pre-contract with an overseas club in January and they are suggestions that Bayern will seek to kickstart talks ahead of other foreign rivals including Juventus.

The Welshman started the season as more of a regular from the starting lineup but of late, he has had to remain content with a bench role with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi preferred ahead of him in the pecking order.
