Malcom says rumors of Barcelona exit are ‘fake information’

Barcelona forward Malcom has branded rumors he could leave the Camp Nou in January as “fake information.”

The Brazilian suffered a tough start to life with the Catalan giants, which prompted speculation that Premier League clubs could try to sign him.

However, the 21-year-old has offered his view and made it pretty clear he’s not interested in a move right now.

“That is fake information and it will not break my confidence,” he said.

“Scoring a goal for Barcelona right after that [the rumours] was important for my confidence and I’m sure I can do much more to help the club.”

It’s been a good week for Malcom. He scored his first goal for the club in the Champions League draw with Inter on Tuesday.

He could also see some more game time on Sunday against Real Betis, with Philippe Coutinho out, Lionel Messi still a doubt, and Ousmane Dembele struggling with gastroenteritis. Injuries to key players can be Malcom’s gain as he is desperate to get more minutes on the pitch and prove his worth.
