Higuain set for Chelsea move?

Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain has reportedly opened the possibility of joining Chelsea this month, thereby ending his frustrating loan spell with AC Milan.

The 31-year-old joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan deal from Juventus last summer after he was deemed surplus to requirements, but he has since struggled with just six goals in the Serie A.

According to Calciomercato, the Milan side are now considering the prospect of terminating his loan contract, given they are finding it difficult to pay his substantial wages.

It is added that Juventus will seek to offload the striker thereafter with Chelsea deemed the favourites to acquire his services and reunite him with former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.

Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata are presently the choices for the centre-forward role this term but the latter has been tipped to make a potential La Liga return with Sevilla before the end of the month.
