Chelsea enter race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star

Chelsea have reportedly made contact with Paris Saint-Germain regarding the potential transfer of midfielder Adrien Rabiot this month.

The Frenchman has just six months remaining on his existing deal with the club and his agent has already confirmed that a renewal is out of the cards.

Amidst this, he has been linked with some of Europe's elite including Barcelona but according to L'Equipe, the Blues have now thrown their name into the hat.

The Blues are currently aiming to recruit a new midfielder in their ranks after sanctioning the departure of Cesc Fabregas to AS Monaco earlier in the week.

Aside from Rabiot, the club are also looking into a potential move for Nicolo Barella from Cagliari, although he is expected to cost much more than the former, whose contract expires in the summer.

Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League standings with a six-point advantage over arch-rivals Arsenal, whom they face at the Emirates Stadium next weekend.
