Gennaro Gattuso updates on Gonzalo Higuains future

Gattuso unsure about Higuain's future

AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has said that he is unsure whether Gonzalo Higuain will remain with the Rossoneri amid the recent interest from Premier League side Chelsea.

The Argentina international only joined the Rossoneri on a two-year loan deal earlier in the summer but he has since struggled to score regular goals with just six of them resulting in the Serie A.

Amidst this, he has been linked with a potential switch to the Blues where he could be reunited with manager Maurizio Sarri and Gattuso admits that he is unsure what the player will decide to do in the forthcoming weeks.

"I don't know what will happen. I've talked to him a great deal but it's hard to give advice because the career of a player only lasts 13-14 years. It's his mind, not mine," he said via Football Italia.

The Milan giants have previously indicated that they have no plans of terminating the temporary contract with Higuain but their stance could change with the Blues planning to propose a potential loan swap.

Alvaro Morata has been touted as the striker, who could make way from the Blues after struggling to cement himself as the first-choice marksman under Sarri this term.
