Liverpool boss confirms injury blow for another centre-back

Klopp has just one centre-back at his disposal for Bayern clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the club have a concern regarding the fitness of Dejan Lovren ahead of the Champions League round of 16 clash against Bayern Munich next week.

The Croatia international was initially fancied to join his teammates for the warm weather training camp in Marbella but he could not do so amid concerns expressed by the medical staff.

In a report covered by Liverpool's website, Klopp revealed that Lovren has yet to recover from the hamstring problem sustained during the FA Cup third round tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers last month.

He added that the Croatian will take no part in the training camp in the lead up to the game, though there remains a slender chance that he could return to face the Bavarian giants.

Should he not recover in time, Klopp will be forced to play a makeshift centre-back alongside Joel Matip, considering Joe Gomez is out injured while Virgil van Dijk will be serving a one-match European suspension after picking up two yellow cards in the group phase.
