Chelsea to land Argentine striker on cut-price deal?

Higuain could be signed on a bargain price by Chelsea

Chelsea may have the chance to sign Gonzalo Higuain on a cut-price deal when the transfer window reopens at the end of the current campaign.

The Argentine was pursued from Juventus on a temporary basis from Juventus last month and he has since shown glimpses of his ability by scoring two goals from four matches.

According to The Mirror, the Bianconeri are keen to get rid of the marksman in the summer, given they want to free his £270,000-a-week wages to compensate for the Bosman signing of Aaron Ramsey for a reported £400,000-a-week salary.

Owing to this, the Blues are fancied to sign Higuain on the cheap in the summer, though any agreement could be dependent on whether Maurizio Sarri remains at the helm for another campaign.

Higuain scored his maiden two goals for Chelsea during the 5-0 mauling of Huddersfield Town but he could not produce the same performance against Manchester City where the Blues suffered a 6-0 thrashing of their own.
