Arsenal planning move for Argentine left-back?

Arsenal in for Tagliafico?

Arsenal are reportedly looking into a move for Ajax's Nicolas Tagliafico with Unai Emery keen on strengthening the left side of the defence in the summer.

According to ESPN, the Gunners boss is keen on pursuing a new left-sided defender ahead of next season despite possessing the likes of Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac in the club's ranks.

It is added that Tagliafico is among the top names on the club's summer shortlist with the Argentine enjoying a strong season with Ajax after representing his nation at the 2018 World Cup.

Still, the north London side are not alone in the player's pursuit and they could face stiff competition from Real Madrid, who are looking to replace long-serving defender Marcelo.

Marcelo has been out of form for most of the ongoing campaign and Tagliafico's agent Ricardo Schlieper has recently confirmed that Los Blancos are looking into the services of his client.

Tagliafico has contributed five goals and five assists across all competitions for Ajax this term. He has more than three years remaining on his existing deal with the club.
