Robert Pires urges Arsenal to buy Crystal Palace star
Arsenal legend Pires has advised the Gunners to consider a move for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
The young right-back has been impressive for the Eagles over the past 18 months and this has already attracted high-profile interest from the likes of Manchester City.
Speaking to Bwin, Pires has advised the Gunners to make an approach for the right-sided defender, given Hector Bellerin is expected to miss the start of next season after picking up a serious knee injury.
"Arsenal should definitely be looking to sign Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window," Pires told bwin. ""Bellerin will have a long road to recovery and Arsenal won't be wanting to rush him back in too quickly."
Arsenal have utilised the services of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Carl Jenkinson and Shkodran Mustafi at right-back in Bellerin's absence but none have been able to impress especially on the attack.
The north London giants are currently fifth in the league standings following their frustrating 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur combined with United's comeback triumph over Southampton.
