Maurizio Sarri reacts to Kepa's performance against Fulham
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has said that he is pleased with the performance of Kepa Arrizabalaga during the weekend's derby triumph over Fulham in the Premier League.
The Blues enjoyed their second successive league win after beating the Cottagers 2-1 on the road and Kepa was kept busy between the sticks with a couple of notable saves.
Speaking after the game, Sarri admitted that the Spaniard produced a good performance after being dropped against Tottenham in midweek, he told Sky Sports: "He played very well, it was a normal decision."
"He paid with the club and the team, now the situation is closed. There wasn't another way but I think that Kepa is a man, he understood and reacted really very well."
Chelsea's win over Fulham sees them within two points off the top four but they do have a game in hand against Brighton & Hove Albion which they can capitalise upon.
Meanwhile, the club's immediate focus will shift to the Europa League where they are scheduled to host Dynamo Kyiv in the first leg of the round of 16 on Thursday night.
