Danny Welbeck to earn new Arsenal contract?
Despite having been struck by a long-term injury, Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck could be in line for a new contract at the end of the season. Welbeck, whose contract will expire in June, is reportedly in negotiations with the Gunners regarding a contract extension.
Welbeck is back in training for Arsenal and the club's coach Unai Emery is known to be a fan of the forward. Emery admitted that negotiations will be complicated but the former Man Utd man could earn a fresh deal at the Emirates.
Emery said of the player: “He’s progressing very well. He is working and starting to touch the ball and to work on the pitch. His progress with such a big injury is going very well.
“It’s difficult for him to play matches this season but he is progressing very well and maybe the doctor will tell us he can come train with us in the last weeks of this season.
“After, his individual thing is to speak with the club (about his future).”
