Leicester City are surprise candidates to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson this summer, as the right-back looks set to leave the Gunners in search of pastures new. According to reports, Jenkinson and Arsenal have yet to agree terms on a new contract with the player's contract set to expire on 1st July 2019.

Jenkinson has been a favourite at the club that he supported as a boy, but has failed to force his way in to the club's first team under Unai Emery on a permanent basis and will now seek a move elsewhere.

Despite a couple of loan spells at West Ham, Jenkinson has failed to find a new club in the past and is now ready to leave for a move elsewhere.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly seeking a right-back for next season and Jenkinson has emerged as surprise candidate to take that role.

It is understood that Jenkinson's agent has already opened discussions with representatives of the Foxes with regards to a potential move, as well as at least two teams from abroad who have shown some interest.
