Maurizio Sarri reacts after Chelsea's fortuitous win over Cardiff City
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has acknowledged that the Blues were lucky with a couple of refereeing decisions, although they deserved to win the game against Cardiff City in the end.
The west London giants found themselves 1-0 down to the Bluesbirds shortly after the second half begun but they managed make a late comeback to seal an eventual 2-1 triumph.
The Blues' equaliser was controversial as Cesar Azpilicueta found himself clearly offside but Sarri was nonetheless pleased that the team got the result they wanted in the top four pursuit.
He said: "We did not play very well in the first half. In the second half we played as we usually do. We conceded a stupid goal but today we reacted better. We were lucky for timing but in the end I think we deserved to win."
With the result, there is just one point separating Chelsea in sixth and Tottenham Hotspur in third, although the gap could extend with Arsenal featuring against Newcastle United on Monday night.
