AC Milan leading the race to sign Shkodran Mustafi?
Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has reportedly emerged as the prime target for AC Milan ahead of this summer's transfer window.
The Germany international is currently completing his third season with the north London giants but he has yet to establish himself as a consistent performer at the heart of the club's defence.
According to Tuttosport, Rossoneri chief Ivan Gazidis is planning a raid on former club Arsenal with Mustafi earmarked as a potential signing during the forthcoming transfer window.
The versatile defender has come for severe criticism from the fans owing to his recent blunders at the heart of the backline, but reports indicate that the Gunners are yet to decide whether to part ways with the German.
Mustafi has more than two years remaining on his current contract with the north London side. He was recruited from Valencia for around £35m but his valuation may have reduced with his inconsistent showing.
