Arsenal to beat Manchester United to the signing of Ajax star?
Arsenal are reportedly leading Manchester United in the race to sign Hakim Ziyech from Dutch champions Ajax this summer.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a stellar season with Ajax with 21 goals and 24 assists and he could now pursue a bigger challenge with the club open to sanctioning his sale.
According to TalkSPORT, Arsenal and United are the English sides interested in the Moroccan but the former could have the edge in pursuing his services.
Ziyech has previously talked up his dream of joining either Barcelona or Arsenal and it appears that he could push for a move to the Emirates, should the Gunners make an approach.
The attacker was recently named Ajax's Player of the Year for the second season running and he would cost substantially less than Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha, who has been linked with the Gunners.
Ziyech is said to have a release clause of just £25m and that is significantly lesser than the £80m sum which Palace are understood to command for Zaha, who is likewise a target for United.
