Argentine midfielder confirms interest from Arsenal
River Plate midfielder Exequiel Palacios has acknowledged that Arsenal are one of the sides, who have expressed an interest in signing him this summer.
The 20-year-old has made a positive impression during his early career with River Plate and that has already earned him recognition with the Argentine national side.
Owing to this, there has been speculation that he could make a switch to Europe this summer and Palacios has revealed that both Arsenal and Real Madrid are in the running to recruit him.
"I'm proud clubs like Real Madrid and Arsenal are interested in me." he said.
Palacios is currently available for his release clause of around £18m but it remains to be seen whether the Gunners are willing to trigger the option, considering they are working on a limited budget.
A recent report from Switzerland has indicated that Granit Xhaka is on the verge of joining Inter Milan this month and his departure should allocate sufficient funds for Palacios' purchase without tampering on the transfer kitty.
