Salomon Rondon ready to leave Newcastle for Turkey
Newcastle striker Salomon Rondon is ready to reject a move to St James Park in search of a new challenge, and his agent has reportedly been in talks with Fenerbahce. The loss of Rondon would be a huge blow for the Toon Army, who depended on burly forward Rondon to help keep the club in the Premier League last season.
Rondon, who spent 2018-19 season on loan from West Bromwich Albion, has a number of options for his next move but the Venezuelan is known to favour extending his stay in the Premier League.
However, Newcastle are unwilling to match the reported £24 million price WBA have slapped on the player, instead their maximum offer is less than half of that. Rondon is entering the last year of his long-term contract with WBA.
The player could instead move abroad with Turkish giants Fenerbahce ready to gazump Newcastle's offer and match West Brom's valuation.
Rondon, who has spent four years playing in England, has 72 caps for Venezuela and last season scored 11 goals in 32 games for Newcastle.
