Premier League quartet in battle to sign Youri Tielemans

Youri Tielemans news

Tielemans - one of this summer's top transfer targets

Arsenal, Leicester City, Manchester United and Tottenham will do battle this summer to sign Belgian international starlet Youri Tielemans from Monaco. The impressive midfielder reversed Leicester City's fortunes last season when joining on loan in January and has now emerged as one of Europe's top transfer targets this summer.

Brendan Rodgers' arrival at the Foxes coincided with Tielemans' and since then Leicester City have returned to form. Rodgers is desperate to sign Tielemans on a permanent basis, but is unable to afford the reported 50 million euro price tag for the talented midfielder.

However, Arsenal, Spurs and Man Utd are all ready to pay that fee. Arsenal are looking for a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bolster his squad ahead of next season and Tottenham could see Christian Eriksen depart the club and consider Tielemans to be a suitable replacement.

The 22-year-old played 13 games for Leicester City last season and has 21 caps for Belgium to his name. He joined Monaco in 2017 for a fee of 25 million euros, considered to be a bargain now that his fee is worth more than double.

According to reports from Belgium, Tielemans would favour a move to a club where he is guaranteed first-team football and Arsenal is his preference.
