Manchester United have reportedly made contact with West Ham United regarding the potential availability of midfielder Declan Rice this summer.
The Mancunian giants have been associated with multiple midfielders in the past few weeks but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to hold a particular desire to sign young British players.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils have made a tentative enquiry to the Hammers to find out whether they would entertain bids for Rice during this summer's transfer window.
Rice has made immense progress with the Hammers in the past two seasons and this has recently earned him a regular role with the England national team under Gareth Southgate.
Aside from Rice, United have also expressed their attention to sign defender Issa Diop from the Hammers and they are said to have failed with an opening player-plus-cash move for the Frenchman.
Rice has five years remaining on his existing deal with the Hammers.
