Manchester United offered to sign Argentine striker in Romelu Lukaku swap
Inter Milan have reportedly offered Manchester United with the chance to sign Mauro Icardi in a player-plus-cash deal for Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku has been fancied to make a move to the Serie A this summer and Nerazzurri boss Antonio Conte is understood to be a huge admirer of his services.
According to The Express, the Nerazzurri are unable to pursue a straight-cash deal for Lukaku, given they may not generate sufficient funds to finance the move.
As such, they appear keen on significantly reducing the valuation of the Belgium international by offering out-of-favour Icardi as a potential makeweight in the deal.
Conte has already decided to sanction Icardi's departure after viewing his disciplinary concerns over the past season but the club are struggling to find potential suitors at the moment.
United are on the search for a new marksman to lead the line and Icardi could fit the club's requirements without spending any penny from their transfer budget.
