AC Milan prepare official bid for Lucas Torreira
AC Milan are to make an official approach for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira. The Uruguayan international has hinted to reporters this summer that he would consider a return to Italy.
Torreira, who had a successful spell with Serie A side Sampdoria before making the move to Premier League giants Arsenal, has seemingly struggled to adapt to life in England and recently the player's father informed news reporters that the midfielder "misses his life in Italy".
AC Milan, who are chaired by the Gunners' former chief executive Ivan Gazidis, have been linked with a 35 million euro transfer move for the defensive midfielder and it is understood that Arsenal manager Unai Emery may not stand in the player's way should he favour a return to Italy.
The Serie A giants have made strengthening their defensive ranks their top priority this summer and have been assigned a transfer budget of 150 million euros for new acquisitions.
Torreira, who has three years remaining on his Arsenal deal, is said to be happy at the club but struggling to adapt to life in North London, with learning the English language proving to be a struggle.
