Hudson-Odoi to pen new Chelsea deal

Chelsea have moved a step closer to agreeing a new contract with young attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi. The highly rated youngster, who has been linked with a transfer to Bayern Munich, is expected to play an important part of the Blues' first team plans under new management at the club.

One of the first responsibilities of Chelsea's new manager Frank Lampard has been to sit down with the Blues' young players to discuss his plans. Lampard sees the likes of Hudson-Odoi as one of his most important players and looks set to have reached an agreement with the midfielder over a new deal.

The 18-year-old will earn around £100,000 per week under the terms of his new contract and will likely end the interest of Bayern Munich.

Lampard reportedly sees Tammy Abraham and Hudson-Odoi as important members of his first team for the upcoming season and has informed both players that there will be a greater focus on bringing through youth talent into the first team.

The new Chelsea manager has reportedly asked club owner Roman Abramovich to give him time to blood the team's youngsters into the first-team squad over the next two seasons.
