Joelinton to join Newcastle United
Newcastle United are locked in talks with German side 1899 Hoffenheim regarding a transfer move for Brazilian 22-year-old attacker Joelinton. The Toon Army are to move quickly to sign the centre forward on a reported three year contract.
At the age of 18, Hoffenheim signed Joelinton on a long-term contract after the youngster impressed playing for Brazilian side Sport Recife.
Having lost duo Ayoze Perez to Leicester City and the return of loanee Salomon Rondon, new manager at Newcastle Steve Bruce has moved swiftly to agree a contract with Joelinton. Hoffenheim have reluctantly accepted a 33 million euro transfer fee for a player who spent a short period in Austria playing for Rapid Vienna and just last season bagged 7 goals in 26 games in the Bundesliga for his club.
Newly appointed manager Steve Bruce has been given a very limited budget for new transfers but Joelinton is likely to be the first new arrival, having been guaranteed an additional budget for signing any young players.
The player hopes a move to the Premier League will boost his chances of Brazil international recognition.
