Watford favourites to land Ismaila Sarr
Watford have moved ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Ismaila Sarr from Rennes during this summer's transfer window.
The Gunners had been keeping a close eye on the Senegal international during the backend of the previous season and it was claimed that they may seek to land his services.
However, that has certainly not been the case with the north London giants opting to break their transfer record to sign Lille's Nicolas Pepe and they are unlikely to recruit another wide player.
According to Watford Observer, the Hornets have now begun talks with Rennes for the 21-year-old but a potential deal could be dragged until the closing stages of the Premier League transfer window.
Aside from the Hornets,Crystal Palace and Leicester City have also been linked with the attacker, but Javi Gracia's side seem to hold the edge with better contract terms and the assurance of a regular starting role.
Sarr, who represented Senegal at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, contributed 13 goals and six assists across all competitions for Rennes last season.
