Tottenham open talks with Fulham for Sessegnon
Tottenham and Fulham have opened transfer talks regarding a move for versatile left-sided defender Ryan Sessegnon. The 19-year-old, who is considered one of the brightest young players in England, will discuss personal terms with Spurs this summer if a deal is agreed between the two clubs.
It is understood that Sessegnon remained the primary transfer target for Tottenham and manager Mauricio Pochettino, who has been seeking a new left-back for several months and with uncertainty over the long-term future of current player Danny Rose.
Spurs have spent big this summer on Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon and it is understood that the club will need to spend at least £50 million to snap up Sessegnon. The player scored 2 goals for the Cottagers and returned a further six assists last season, which would be the player's first campaign in the Premier League.
19-year-old Sessegnon has played 106 games for Fulham, scoring 22 goals, and also has appeared a total of 10 times for England's under-21 side. Sessegnon has three years remaining on his deal at Craven Cottage.
