Frank Lampard determined to win the UEFA Super Cup
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has spoken about the importance of the UEFA Super Cup and wants to win the trophy for the second time in the club's history.
The Blues have previously tackled Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich for the trophy in 2012 and 2013 respectively, but on both occasions, they were on the losing side.
Speaking ahead of the Liverpool clash, Lampard said that the silverware means a lot for the club, given they have found no success in the two previous occasions, he told: "It means a lot to the club. I know first-hand because we lost two!"
The Blues made the worst possible beginning to the Premier League campaign with a heavy 4-0 defeat on the road to Manchester United and their defence particularly crumbled in the final 30 minutes.
Lampard is expected to field the same combination against Jurgen Klopp's side and hopefully, the players can respond with a strong performance after the drubbing at the hands of the Red Devils.
