Manchester United monitoring highly-rated Italian midfielder
Manchester United were reportedly keeping a close eye on Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali during the Serie A clash against Bologna at the weekend.
The 19-year-old starred for Brescia as they sealed promotion from the second tier last season and he has started the current campaign with one assist from the opening three Serie A games.
According to Calciomercato, the Red Devils had sent their talent-spotters to monitor the performance of Tonali, who has already drawn comparisons with Italian legend Andrea Pirlo.
The same outlet claims that United are not the only club interested in the teenage midfielder and both Ajax and Borussia Dortmund likewise had scouts in attendance at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti last weekend.
At the age of just 19, Tonali has made nearly 60 appearances for Brescia. He has two years remaining on his existing deal but the club have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months through a clause on his contract.
