Abraham wants to represent England

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham is reportedly prepared to represent England at the international level rather than switching his allegiance to Nigeria.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form for the Blues this season and he has already amassed seven goals for the club across all competitions.

According to Standard Sport, the marksman is keen on continuing his international career with the Three Lions and he has no plans of representing Nigeria for whom he qualifies through his father.

Abraham has yet to represent Gareth Southgate's side in a competitive fixture to date and he has appeared in just two friendlies in November 2017.

He was ignored for the previous set of internationals but reports suggest that he could earn a call-up when the new squad is announced on Thursday.

Abraham has become the undisputed striker in the Blues ranks this term and he is expected to lead the line when they take on Lille in Europe tonight.

The Blues are yet to register a point in the Champions League this term following their slender 1-0 defeat to Valencia in the curtain-raiser last month.
