Arsenal want Real Madrid youngster to replace Mesut Ozil?

Odegaard wanted by Arsenal

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a temporary move for Real Madrid attacker Martin Odegaard at the turn of the year with Mesut Ozil likely to be shown the exit door.

Ozil was snubbed for the recent Premier League clash against Manchester United and reports have since emerged that he could be loaned out when the transfer window reopens.

According to El Desmarque, the Gunners are looking at the option of filling German's void and Odegaard is being considered following his bright beginning to the season with Real Sociedad on loan.

The Norwegian has failed to make a breakthrough with Los Blancos since his debut in 2015 but he has hugely impressed with two goals and two assists for Sociedad in the Spanish La Liga.

Zinedine Zidane's side are said to value Odegaard at a staggering £71m but the Gunners will attempt to pursue the youngster on a short-term loan by making use of their good relationship with the Spanish giants.

Arsenal have already pursued Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid on a season-long loan but they don't have the option to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of the campaign.
