Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has said that the recent speculation linking Callum Wilson with a winter move to Manchester United seems pointless.

The England international has been in sparkling form of late with five goals from four league appearances and this has earned him another call-up with the Three Lions.

Amidst this, there has been the speculation that the Red Devils may launch a January move to secure his services but Howe believes it is too early to speak on the transfer gossip.

"To hear transfer links and rumours at this stage when the window is shut and a long way from being open, for me, it is pointless talking about it," he told via Goal.com.

Wilson has netted in each of the past four league matches for the Cherries and Howe will be banking on the marksman to prove his credentials against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Cherries have a dreadful record at the Emirates Stadium with four defeats on the bounce and they will require a quick start off the blocks to take advantage of the Gunners' vulnerability at the back.
