Chelsea boss praises young playmaker after Chelsea's win over Ajax

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has appreciated the performance of Christian Pulisic during the Blues' 1-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Blues had gone into the game with just three points accumulated from the opening two matches and it seemed that they could settle for a share of the spoils.

However, two substitutes in Pulisic and Michy Batshuayi made the difference with the former contributing the assist for the latter's winning strike in the 86th minute.

Speaking after the game, Lampard spoke highly about Pulisic, he told BT Sport: "You have to give Christian (Pulisic) huge credit. I have got belief in my players. It is tough to leave people out."

Pulisic has found gametime hard to come by over the past few months and he has made just one start in the League Cup since the September international break.

Still, he has shown the eagerness to make an impact and has contributed an assist in two of the past three appearances off the bench for the west London giants.
