Barcelona confirm fresh injury blow for South American star

Barcelona have confirmed a fresh injury blow for Luis Suarez during the club's 3-1 La Liga defeat at the hands of Levante on Saturday.

The Uruguay international picked up the problem during the opening period at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia and he was substituted before the half-time interval.

A statement from Barcelona's official Twitter account has now confirmed that the marksman has picked up a calf problem but they have not yet revealed a possible return date.

The 32-year-old has bagged eight goals from 12 appearances for the Blaugrana this season despite the fact that he missed the early stages of the campaign with a similar calf concern.

Suarez is likely to be sidelined for the forthcoming games for the Catalan giants and it remains to be seen whether he would link up with the national side for the internationals this month.

Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele has returned from his injury but he was not even included in the matchday squad during the Blaugrana's shock defeat at Levante on Saturday.
