Manchester United midfield star open to January exit

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is reportedly open to pursuing a fresh challenge away from the Red Devils when the transfer window reopens.

The Serbia international has struggled for regular gametime since the beginning of the season and he has started just two games in the Premier League.

According to The Manchester Evening News, the 31-year-old is likely to consider a fresh challenge away from the Red Devils in January, given he is no longer assured of a starting spot.

He has been sidelined with an unknown injury over the past few weeks but reports claim that he is now behind Scott McTominay and Fred in the selection order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Inter Milan have been heavily linked with Matic over the past few months but chief Beppa Marotta has recently hinted that the Nerazzurri may not pursue any high-profile players at the turn of the year.

United are scheduled to host Partizan Belgrade in tomorrow's Europa League meeting at Old Trafford. They go into the game on the back of a disappointing 1-0 defeat away to Bournemouth.
