Hazard speaks on Chelsea's title prospects

Real Madrid star Eden Hazard feels Chelsea could have been in a good position to compete for the Premier League title this season, had they made a couple of signings during the summer.

The west London giants parted ways with Hazard shortly after the conclusion of the previous season and they thereafter decided against applying a freeze on the transfer ban imposed by FIFA.

As a result, many predicted that the Blues could struggle to make the push for the top four positions but they have managed to exceed expectations under Frank Lampard during the opening half of the season.

The Blues are already placed third in the standings with a nine-point advantage over Sheffield United and they look good value to cement their Champions League spot for next term.

Speaking after the recent international game for Belgium, Hazard praised Lampard for transforming the Blues with young players this season and suggested that they could be pushing for the top spot, if they had the chance to spend in the transfer market.

“I don’t know. Maybe with two or three more players they would first. When I saw them play it’s nice, they all play together. I still have good friends there,” he was quoted as saying by Goal.com.
