Serie A giants to compete for Manchester United defender?
Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus could reportedly make offers to sign Chris Smalling from Manchester United next summer.
Smalling has impressed since his season-long loan move to AS Roma earlier this summer but the Serie A side don't have the option to buy at the end of the season.
A recent report has claimed that United could accept around £18m for the permanent sale of the central defender and that seems to have caught the eye of other top Italian sides.
According to Corriere della Sera, both Inter and Juventus have been impressed with Smalling's performances in the Serie A and they are prepared to compete with Roma for his permanent signature.
Smalling presently has a contract with United until June 2022 but his prospects of making a comeback appear slim with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones ahead of him in the pecking order for the centre-back role.
Smalling has played every minute of Roma's previous eight league games. The Giallorossi are presently sixth in the Serie A standings with a two-point gap to the Champions League places.
