Arsenal to swoop for Championship defender?
Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a January move to secure the signature of defender Joe Worrall from Championship side Nottingham Forest.
The 22-year-old, who spent the previous campaign on loan with Rangers in the Scottish top-flight, has been ever-present for Forest in the Championship this term.
According to Football Insider, the Gunners have been impressed by the progress of the former England under-21 international and they plan to send scouts to watch him in action against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday.
It is added that the north London giants' desire to land a new centre-back could see them make the move for Worrall when the transfer window reopens in January.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has regularly depended on Sokratis and David Luiz for the central defensive duties in the Premier League but the combination has failed to work out.
In the 13 top-flight games this season, the Gunners have conceded 19 goals and that stands as the joint-worst defensive record from the top half of the league standings..
