Arsenal staff fancy 42-year-old coach to replace Emery
A large section of the backroom staff at Arsenal believe Freddie Ljungberg is the favourite for the head coach role, should Emery get the sack.
The Spaniard is under immense pressure due to the club's ongoing six-match winless streak and reports have emerged that he needs to pick up wins in the next two matches to save his job.
In case he is dismissed, the likes of Mikel Arteta, Nuno Espirito Santo and Massimiliano Allegri have been fancied to take up the head coach role but Goal.com claims that it could be a different case.
It is added that Ljungberg is braced to earn the managerial role on an interim basis for the season and he could be handed with the permanent job based on his performance for the rest of the campaign.
Arsenal are currently eight points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the league standings. They are scheduled to face newcomers Norwich City on the road this weekend.
