Tammy Abraham provides update on his hip injury
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham believes he has avoided a significant hip problem and he is hopeful of making his comeback in a short space of time.
The England international picked up the injury right before the half-time whistle against Valencia last night but he was thereafter stretched off for treatment.
Initially, it was feared that he may have sustained a serious setback but Abraham has now provided some positive news by stating that he has been able to walk about.
"It’s much better than when it happened. I was fearful of the worst when it happened but when got into the changing room, I could walk about. I’ll have a scan and hopefully it’s just bruising," he told Chelsea TV.
Chelsea managed a 2-2 draw against Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday but they were lucky in the end with Los Che squandering a number of clear-cut chances.
At the weekend, they are scheduled to face West Ham United in the Premier League at home and Abraham is most likely to miss the London derby, barring a surprise.
