Chelsea planning move for Championship centre-back

Chelsea are reportedly interested in landing the services of Ben White from Leeds United when the transfer window reopens at the end of the month.

The 22-year-old is presently on a season-long loan with the Peacocks from Brighton & Hove Albion and he has not missed a single minute for the Yorkshire side, who are second in the Championship.

According to The Sun, the Blues are likely to reinforce their backline after their transfer ban was lifted earlier this month and White has been earmarked as one of the top targets for the New Year.

At present, it is unclear whether Brighton will recall their defender from Leeds but reports claim that they have placed a £25m price tag on the player's ahead amid interest from several high-profile sides.

White, who has made just two appearances for the Seagulls, is also being monitored by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United and Frank Lampard's side could yet face a transfer tussle for the centre-back.
