Atletico Madrid to make January bid for Manchester United midfielder

Atletico Madrid are reportedly planning a January move for midfielder Nemanja Matic, who has fallen out-of-favour at Manchester United this season.

The 31-year-old has been limited to just six appearances for the Mancunian giants under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and only three of those have come in the Premier League.

As a result, he has been tipped to pursue a fresh challenge during the January transfer window and Sky Italy claims that Atleti are in the running to land his signature.

Matic had been an instant favourite with the Red Devils following his move from Chelsea in the summer of 2017 but over the past 18 months, he has been criticised by the fans for his reduced mobility on the playing field.

A section of the supporters have also been critical over his slow decision-making and the same has cost him a regular role with the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay preferred ahead of him for the league duties.
